About the Cybersecurity Program

In this 8-week online, blended-learning program with live sessions, you will advance your technical expertise in cloud security, network defense, identity management, and incident response. With just a computer and a reliable internet connection, you’ll gain hands-on experience using industry-standard tools and build the applied skills needed to move toward mid-level cybersecurity roles. You’ll complete interactive labs, practical assignments, and a capstone project that simulates a real-world security assessment, guided by experienced Teaching Assistants. The curriculum—developed by CGI in collaboration with Atlantic Canadian employers—ensures each module reflects current industry practices and workforce needs. Participants will also connect with mentors and industry professionals through virtual panels and networking sessions, strengthening their technical confidence and understanding of the regional cybersecurity landscape. This program is ideal for motivated learners who enjoy applied problem-solving, have prior foundational experience, and can dedicate 12+ hours per week to study.

What you will learn

Deepen your understanding of cybersecurity in cloud environments, exploring threat identification, risk communication, and secure configuration practices to protect digital infrastructure.

Develop practical skills in network reconnaissance, penetration testing, and incident response, learning how to detect, assess, and mitigate security threats using real-world methodologies and tools.

Gain exposure to SIEM and SOC operations, log analysis, and security monitoring. Apply your knowledge in a capstone project simulating an end-to-end security engagement, showcasing your readiness for mid-level cybersecurity roles.

Program Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older and have completed a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. You must also be a resident of Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, or Prince Edward Island, and demonstrate the technical prerequisites required to succeed in a mid-level training program.
