About the Cybersecurity Program

In this 16-week online, asynchronous program with live sessions, you will learn cybersecurity fundamentals, the basics of cybersecurity and cloud computing, and python essentials. Working at your own pace and your own schedule, you will become versed in TCP and UDP have the option to complete certifications, all while building the skills necessary to find work in this exciting field. You will also gain access to industry connections through our mentoring program and industry panels, helping to enhance your job readiness. This program is a great fit for you if you love to learn online, are self-motivated, have a knack for math and technology, and can dedicate 10+ hours a week to the program.

What you will learn

Comprehensive understanding of computer networks, TCP/IP protocols, and network security including describing different types of network attacks, methods of detecting them, as well as mitigation techniques.

Python is a popular programming language used in cybersecurity due to its simplicity, readability, and versatility. It can be used for tasks such as network analysis, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and creating custom scripts for automating security tasks. Python has a vast collection of libraries and frameworks that can be utilized by cybersecurity professionals to build powerful tools for securing systems and networks.

Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) helps to build a solid foundation of cybersecurity domains and concepts needed to be successful in a cybersecurity role. The topics covered are:

  • Business Continuity (BC), Disaster Recovery (DR), & Incident Response Concepts
  • Access Control Concepts
  • Network Security
  • Security Operations

Program Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older and have completed a high school GED or equivalent. You must also be a resident of Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador, New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island.
